UN Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights Expressed Readiness to Assist Mauritanian Efforts in Human Rights Promotion
On Wednesday in Geneva, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, Mr. Cheikh Ahmedou Ould Ahmed Salem Ould Sidi, held talks with Ms. Nada Al Nashiv, United Nations Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The meeting focused on the cooperation relations between Mauritania and United Nations High Commissioner for human rights.
During the meeting, the commissioner outlined the progress made by our country in the field of human rights, stressing the importance of the support provided by this UN organization to our country.
As for the deputy high commissioner, she expressed her readiness to assist the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, related to combating false stereotypes through awareness and educational programs in the field of human rights in cooperation with the regional offices of the Commission.
