National Human Rights Commission Chairperson Meets with French Ambassador

The Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould Bouhoubeini, met, Thursday in Nouakchott, with the French Ambassador to Mauritania, Mr. Robert Moulie.

During the meeting, Mr. Bouhoubeini briefed his host on the laudable efforts made by his institution, based on which its ranking by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva was revised upwards to pass from category “B” to category “A”.
The two parties also reviewed the human rights situation in Mauritania and the improvements it has recently known.
