President of Republic Receives Written Message from Saharawi Counterpart

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received, on Monday morning at the Presidential Palace of Nouakchott, a written message from his brother, His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Ghaly, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).

The message was delivered by Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Saleck, Saharawi Minister of Foreign Affairs, currently visiting our country, during an audience granted to him by the President of the Republic.

Shortly after the meeting, the Saharawi minister made a statement to the Mauritanian news agency (AMI), in which he said: “We thank the President of the Republic for this audience during which we delivered him a message from his brother Mr. Ibrahim Ghaly on the latest developments in the Sahara and on bilateral relations.

The SADR, which believes that stability and security in the region are linked to respect for borders, justice and rights, will work in this direction as a member of the African Union and on the basis of relationship of mutual respect and common interests.

The Saharawi people, who work for peace and fight for their rights, will always adhere to peace based on justice, on respect for borders and the territorial integrity of all components of the sub-region”.
