Health Ministry Receives Medical Supplies from BP to Combat COVID-19

The Ministry of Health ,presented by its adviser for social affairs, M. Hampathé Ba,received today Wednesday , in Nouakchott , medical equipment provided by British Petroleum Mauritania Company (BP) as support to the effort to contain the repercussions of the third wave of Covid-19, including devices to detect and conduct tests for Covid-19 and testing equipment.
In a speech on the occasion, Adviser to the Prime Minister in charge of Social Affairs, M. Hampathé, on behalf of the committee charged with following up on the pandemic, thanked British Petroleum for this donation, which will undoubtedly help the capabilities of the health system in our country.
From his part, the regional director of BP in Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Limam, indicated that the donation presented today by the company is part of contribution to the national effort to contain the new wave of the virus and limit its repercussions on citizens.
He added that the company provided similar aid during the first wave of the epidemic, which was then represented in 30 tons of medical supplies for the health staff.
The ceremony of reception took place in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Petroleum, Minerals and Energy, and the Director of Hydrocarbons in the same sector.
