President of the Republic reassures the Health of a Girl who Underwent a Kidney Transplant at the National Heart Center

The President of the Republic, President-elect Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, visited on Sunday evening the girl who underwent a successful kidney transplant last Friday at the National Heart Center in Nouakchott.

During the visit, the President of the Republic assured the health of the 25-year-old girl and of her 30-year-old donor brother.

His Excellency listened to a presentation from the medical team supervising the operation, about the girl’s condition, the extent to which her body accepts kidney transplantation, and the various medical procedures that she and her donor brother underwent, including examinations and examinations before the operation.

The President of the Republic thanked the medical team supervising this operation, the first of its kind at the national level, for the valuable efforts it made.

The kidney transplant for this girl, which was carried out in cooperation between the National Council for Donation, Removal and Respect of Human Organs and Tissues, the National Center for Cardiology, and with the support and sponsorship of the Algerian National Agency for Organ Transplantation, and the Department of Kidney Transplantation at the University Hospital Batna in Algeria, is part of a project launched by Mauritania aims to obtain various possibilities and conditions that enable kidney transplants to be performed in the country.

Upon his arrival at the National Heart Center, His Excellency the President of the Republic was received by the Minister of Health, Mrs. Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknas, the Director General of the National Center for Cardiology, Professor Ahmed Ould Abba, the President of the National Council for Donation, Deduction and Respect of Human Organs and Tissues, Dr. Abdellatif Sidi Ali, the Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Jaafar, and the medical staff who supervised the transplant.
