A number of Mauritanian News Agency workers received today, Thursday, in Nouakchott, the first dose of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine against the Corona virus, as part of the national vaccination campaign against the Covid-19 pandemic, which was launched two days ago throughout the national territory.
Present to start of the campaign at the locals of the agency were the general manager of the Mauritanian News Agency Mr. Mohamed Vall Ould Beye and other assistants.
From his part, the Director of the News Sector at the Mauritanian News Agency, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Taleb Al-Nafi’, thanked the Ministry of Health for providing the opportunity for vaccination to all citizens through this national campaign and bringing this service closer to the citizen in a smooth manner.
He indicated that the Mauritanian News Agency was the first to carry out awareness-raising campaigns in the capital, Nouakchott, and the internal cities, to educate citizens about the danger of the epidemic and the importance of taking precautionary measures in the first and second phases.
He pointed out that the campaign was carried out through the various media of the Foundation, the “Chaab” and “Horizon ” newspapers and the agency’s website, in addition to distributing awareness-raising posters in the areas of gatherings and road junctions that dealt with the danger of the epidemic and stressed the importance of taking the vaccine and adopting safe behavior and procedures. The precautionary measures announced by the public authorities are a weapon to confront the epidemic.
He added that the Mauritanian News Agency, through its regional offices in the various cities of the country, accompanied during the 48 hours preceding the launch of the current vaccination campaign, the awareness efforts undertaken by the regional authorities in order to raise awareness of this campaign and to educate citizens about the demand for it, to a degree in which this campaign occupied an area of more than 70% From the media material of the Mauritanian News Agency on its various media.
