President of Republic Receives UPR MPs for Hodh El Gharbi

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received, Thursday afternoon at the Presidential Palace, the MPs of the Union for the Republic (UPR) party for Hodh El Gharbi.

His Excellency discussed with the MPs the role of the legislative power in strengthening democracy, building the state of institutions, respecting the principle of separation of powers, and anchoring MPs’ role through listening to populations of their electoral districts.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lamine, Director of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, Mr. Haroun Traore, Officer in Charge of Special Duties at the Presidency of the Republic, and Mr. Jemal Ould El Yedali, Chairman of UPR parliamentary group.
