President of Republic, AU Chairman, Holds Telephone Conversation With Senegal’s President-Elect

On 27 March, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, had a telephone conversation with his brother, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the President-elect of the Republic of Senegal.

During this conversation, His Excellency, the President of the Republic, renewed his congratulations to the President-elect for the great confidence placed in him by the Senegalese people.

He also praised the atmosphere of serenity and responsibility in which these elections took place, saluting the maturity of the Senegalese people and the strength of its centuries-old democracy. He also congratulated him on behalf of the African Union.

In turn, the President-elect of Senegal thanked His Excellency the President of the Republic for his congratulations, emphasizing, at the same time, the depth of the cooperative relations between the two countries and the solidity of the bonds of fraternity and friendship that unites the two brotherly people.

At the end of the meeting, the two Presidents affirmed their common desire to work to strengthen these relations in the interest of the two brotherly countries.
