Agreement Signed Between Mauritania, WFP

The Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Ms. Mariem Bekaye, signed, Thursday in Nouakchott, with the representative of the World Food Program (WFP) in Mauritania, Ms. Kinday Ndella SAMBA, an agreement on the implementation of the project to strengthen the resilience of populations in southern and eastern Mauritania in the face of food insecurity.

Project interventions include the available resources linked to the infrastructure of the National Agency of the Great Green Wall in the wilayas of Assaba and Hodh Echarghi, within the framework of the country’s strategic plan with WFP for the period 2019. -2022, based on a financial credit falling within the framework of the execution of the program to transform Mauritanian external debt vis-à-vis the Kingdom of Spain into public investment projects.

The signing ceremony of the agreement was attended by the technical adviser in charge of legal affairs, Mr. Ahmed Ould Zein, and the director of the National Agency of the Great Green Wall, Mr. El Houssein Ould Legraa.
