Mauritania commemorated World Diabetes Day on Tuesday in Nouakchott, under the slogan “Access to diabetes care, if not now, when?”
The commemoration of this day, which falls on November 14 of each year, comes with the aim of raising awareness of the dangers of diabetes, raising awareness about its impact on society, encouraging early diagnosis and supporting those affected.
In a speech on the occasion, Her Excellency the Minister of Health, Mrs. Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknass, stressed that the government is committed to combating incurable and costly diseases in general and diabetes in particular, based on the keenness of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, on the health and well-being of the Mauritanian citizens.
