President of Republic Meets With Mauritanian Ulema Committee Leading Dialogue With Salafist Prisoners

On March 16, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the Mauritanian Ulema Committee, which is responsible for dialogue with Salafist prisoners.

During the meeting, the Committee’s chairman, the scholar Mohamed El Mokhtar Ould M’bala, presented a report on the progress of the latest phase of the dialogue, as well as the resulting outcomes and recommendations.

In a keynote address, the President of the Republic commended the ulema’s efforts to correct misconceptions and reinforce the values of moderation, emphasizing the importance of continuing this initiative due to its role in strengthening sound religious awareness and consolidating intellectual stability.

For their part, the members of the Committee commended His Excellency for his support of this initiative, affirming their commitment to continuing their work in the service of the national interest and to reinforcing the values of moderation.
