His Excellency the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mr. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, held, on Friday at the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Paris, a working session with Mr. Enmanuel Molina, Director General of the French Treasury, representing the French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Economic Recovery, Bruno Le Maire.
During the session, the French official expressed support of the economic and financial sector in France for the reforms in our country and its will to accompany them to implement all the understandings that His Excellency the Minister concluded with the various French bodies during his visit this week to France so that the expected goals from them are achieved.
Mr. Molina also affirmed his country’s support for Mauritania in relation to the file of easing or canceling the debt to reduce its burdens on the economies of the developing countries in the Sahel and Africa, in particular.
During the session between His Excellency the Minister and the French official in his capacity as France’s representative in the last meeting of the World Bank Group’s Board of Directors, they discussed preparation and coordination for the upcoming spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank 2021, affirming support for Mauritania’s files with the Bretton Woods institutions.
They also discussed a program to increase the resources allocated to developing countries, which may result in an increase in our country’s share of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund resources.
At the end of the session, the French official hailed the strength of the partnership between France and our country, describing it as good and excellent and pledging to enhance it through the various economic cooperation programs.
