French Investment Bank Ready To Promote Investment in Mauritania

The French Investment Bank officials have expressed their institution’s readiness to contribute to the promotion of French investments in Mauritania and to support the Mauritanian investment bodies.

The statement came during a meeting held by the minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mr. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, on Friday evening in Paris, with the Executive Director of this French public bank, Mr. Pedro Novo, who was accompanied by the Director of international Relations at the same bank, Ms. Isabelle Bebear.

The meeting discussed ways the bank can assist French investors in identifying investment opportunities in Mauritania and support them in this aspect, based on the role of this bank in accompanying investment companies and entrepreneurship.

The two parties also discussed a mechanism for strengthening the partnership with Mauritania and assisting it in attracting investments through technical support and expertise and in developing Mauritanian investment institutions, such as the Deposit and Development Fund and the Mauritanian Investment Fund, which will be launched soon.

It has been agreed that a visit by the Executive Director of the bank will be paid to Mauritania as soon as possible to closely examine the available investment opportunities and to discuss with officials of the banking sector and national employers ways to finance investment in Mauritania.
