Nouakchott, 1 September 2020 (AMI)-The Islamic Republic of Mauritania has expressed its deep satisfaction with the agreement reached between the Sudanese state and the armed movements.
In a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians abroad on 1 September, Mauritania stressed that the agreement is likely to strengthen the security and stability of Sudan and to achieve its aspirations for development and prosperity.

‘The Mauritanian government has followed with great interest the peace negotiations which were crowned with the signing of an agreement between the Sudanese state and the armed movements putting to put an end to armed action in this brotherly country.
On this occasion, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania expresses its deep satisfaction at the conclusion of this agreement, which is likely to strengthen the security and stability of Sudan and to help achieve its aspirations for development and prosperity.
It also seizes the same opportunity to commend the important role played by the State of South Sudan as a mediator between the two parties.’
