Nouakchott Region, Paris City Sign Friendship, Cooperation Pact

On 29 June, Ms. Fatimetou Mint Abdel Maleck, the Chairperson of the Region of Nouakchott, and Ms. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, signed a pact of friendship and cooperation in the areas of urban agriculture, vocational training, higher education, urban mobility, and the accessibility and sustainability of public transport.

The signing of this pact is part of the strategy of the Region of Nouakchott aimed at broadening the scope of its partners in decentralized cooperation and with donors to mobilize financial resources to direct them toward regional development.

The signing of the friendship and cooperation pact took place on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the International Association of Francophone Mayors held in Cote d’Ivoire. The Chairperson of the Region of Nouakchott is a member of its executive board.
