Secretary-General’s UN Representative in Charge for W S File Begins Visit to Mauritania

On 17 January, Mr. Staffan de Mistura, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in charge for the Western Sahara file, began a working visit to Mauritania.

The representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations was received at Nouakchott International Airport Oumtounsy, by the Ambassador, Director-General of Multilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Lemine Ould Moulay Ali, Secretary-General of the Acting Ministry, and the Coordinator of UN Programs in Mauritania, Mr. Anthony Ohemeng-Boamah.

The UN envoy, who was assigned by the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the seventh of last October with the Western Sahara file, is conducting his first tour in the region, which he started a few days ago from the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco.
