Mauritania Participates in Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroads, Mr. Ismael Ould Cheikh Ahmed, participated via videoconference in the ministerial conference of the Francophonie.

In his speech for the occasion, the Minister stated that the francophonie constitutes a base of values characterized by tolerance. Through its cultural richness and linguistic diversity, Mauritania has the experience to share with regards to this concept.

« Mauritania is francophone, Arab, African, and Maghrebian, just like other countries who are present in this assembly. We are proud to belong to the family of the Francophonie».
As for the Covid-19 pandemic, the Minister declared that the infections had reached an unprecedented peak.

The Minister concluded his speech by noting that the Francophonie countries meet today at the heart of the pandemic, which tests their abilities to act together.
