President of Republic Returns to Nouakchott From Brussels

On March 26, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, returned to Nouakchott from Brussels, Belgium, where he met with officials from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union (EU).

The President of the Republic was welcomed at Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport by the Prime Minister, Mr. El Moctar Ould Diay; the Minister and Secretary-General of the Presidency, Mr. Moulay Ould Mohamed Laghdaf; and the Advisors at the Presidency, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallah Ben Boya and Ms. Aissata Ba Yahya, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, the Minister of Defense, Retiresss, and Children of Martyrs’ Affairs, Mr. Hanana Ould Sidi, the Minister of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, the Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, Ms. Gandega Fatimata, the Wali of Nouakchott-West, Mr. Hammoud Ould M’hamed, as well as the President of the Nouakchott Region, Ms. Fatimetou Mint Abdel Malek.

The President of the Republic was accompanied by a large delegation, including:

Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, Minister in charge of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic;

Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Brahim Khlil, Mauritanian Ambassador to Belgium;

Major General Mohamed Mokhtar Ould Cheikh Menni, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic;

Major General Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ould Boide, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces;

Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Taleb Amar, Officer in charge of Special Duties at the Presidency;

Mr. Mohamed Ould Diegua, Advisor at the Presidency;

Mr. El Hassan Ould Ahmed, Director General of State Protocol.
