President of Republic Presides Over Camel, Horse Race at Heritage Cities Festival

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, this Friday evening in the city of Ouadane, oversaw a camel and horse race organized as part of the activities of the 14th edition of the Heritage Cities Festival.

More than 30 camels and 22 horses participated in this race, which is considered one of the most prestigious traditional national sports.

His Excellency the President awarded the first prize to the winner of the horse race, Mr. Mohamed Amrou Ould El-Fath, and to the winner of the camel race, Mr. Mrabih Ould Cheikh Malainine.

Other winners will receive valuable prizes during the closing ceremony of the festival.

The President was accompanied by the Minister in charge of the President’s Office, the Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesperson, the Wali of Adrar, and the Hakem of Ouadane.
