Nouakchott
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, left Nouakchott early Thursday morning heading to the Kingdom of Spain to participate in the tenth forum of the Union for the Mediterranean, which will be held in the city of Barcelona on November 27 and 28, coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the launch of the Barcelona Process.
The forum’s agenda includes the approval of the new headquarters agreement, in addition to the reform document known as the new vision of the Union for the Mediterranean. The forum, held in a sensitive regional context full of challenges in the Middle East, will also discuss the existing risks in the region and the need to strengthen Euro-Arab dialogue, alongside advancing the implementation of the two-state solution, considered the only way to achieve lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis.
