He expressed his country’s deep gratitude to Mauritania for the warm welcome given to the UK Minister for Africa during his visit to our country last September, highlighting that the visit had revealed many areas of cooperation between the two countries.
He added that the United Kingdom had renewed its commitment to supporting climate change resilience, enhancing food security and protecting the livelihoods of some 46,000 people in the most vulnerable areas of Mauritania by expanding its programme to strengthen climate change adaptation capacity.
The ceremony was attended by the chargé d’affaires at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad; the ambassador and director general for bilateral cooperation; the ambassador and director for Europe; the assistant director for protocol; and a number of representatives of the diplomatic corps and regional and international organisations accredited in Mauritania.
