Government spokesman: The President’s visit to the Houdh Charghi confirmed that he is a progressive national leader

The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesperson, Mr. El Houssein Ould Medou, stated that the recent visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to the Hodh Charghi region confirmed that he is a progressive national leader. During the visit, he renewed his political openness and his call for an inclusive dialogue that excludes no one, and also reiterated his call to combat administrative and financial corruption in all its forms and to dry up its sources.
He added, in response to a question about the visit, during his comments on the results of the Council of Ministers meeting, Wednesday in Nouakchott, alongside the Ministers of Economy and Development, and Digital Transformation and Modernization of Administration, that the President’s focus on the values of citizenship, education, security, development, and youth issues is evidence of his leadership and national qualities. He pointed out that the visit highlighted the large-scale support of the region’s residents for the President.
He confirmed that the visit was one of work, development, and direct communication with the population, during which the President launched an emergency program in 11 regions with a financial allocation exceeding 260 billion Ouguiyas, of which the Hodh Charghi region received 40 billion Ouguiyas.
For his part, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdallah Ould Sleimane Ould Cheikh Sidia, commented on the draft decree regarding the organization and functioning of the committee for selecting members of the National Authority for Combating Corruption. He stated that the committee will consist of six experienced members representing various sectors, within a decision that will be issued by the authority and widely published.
For his part, the Minister of Digital Transformation and Administrative Modernization, Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould Bedde Atchfagh, commented on the statement regarding the “Ain” electronic platform, saying that the platform recorded a total of 17,965 complaints and reports over the past year, with 11,835 complaints and 6,130 reports.
He pointed out that the establishment of the platform came under the instructions of His Excellency the President of the Republic, to bring services closer to citizens and involve them in overseeing the work of the government, explaining that it is supervised by a committee in the Prime Minister’s Office and has cells in other sectors, affirming that the currently provided services will be supplemented with new services as part of the platform’s annual evaluation conducted on this occasion.
