Human Rights Commissioner Meets With UN System Resident Coordinator

On 6 August, in Nouakchott, Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Bennane, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, received Ms. Leila Pieters Yahya, the Resident Coordinator of the UN System in Mauritania.

The meeting focused on cooperation between Mauritania and this UN body, particularly in terms of the protection and promotion of human rights, as well as the significant progress Mauritania has made in this area in recent years.

The talks also touched on the visit of the Special Rapporteur on the rights of migrants to our country in early September.
