Mauritanian pilgrims arrived in Mina on Wednesday, the eighth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, to spend the Day of Troyah until sunrise on the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, following the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
On the ninth of Dhu al-Hijjah, pilgrims will head to Arafa to perform the Great Pillar of Hajj, where they will pray Dhuhr and Asr collectively and briefly, and then head to Muzdalifah, where they will perform Maghrib and Isha prayers, collect pebbles, and stay overnight.
At dawn on the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, pilgrims return to Mina to throw the Great Jamrat al-Aqaba, then shave their heads or cut their hair short and slaughter their huday, marking the lesser decomposition, and head to the Kaaba to perform the Tawaf al-Ifada, thus completing the greater decomposition.
Pilgrims then return to Mina to spend the days of Tashriq (11, 12 and 13 of Dhu al-Hijjah) throwing jamarat, while those who are in a hurry can shorten their stay in Mina to just two days.
After the end of these days, pilgrims head to Mecca to perform the Farewell Tawaf, which concludes the Hajj rituals.
