President of Nouadhibou Free Zone Authority receives IMF delegation

The President of the Nouadhibou Free Zone Authority, Mr. Isaqa Giagana, received on Monday at the headquarters of the Authority in Nouadhibou, a delegation from the International Monetary Fund headed by Mr. Felix Fischer.

The meeting, which was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehbi, was devoted to discussing and deepening consultations on the existing areas of cooperation between Mauritania and this international financial institution, and ways to strengthen and develop them in the service of national economic development.

The meeting with the rest of the delegation in Nouakchott was also expanded via videoconference, where the two parties discussed the most important axes related to mechanisms to support economic stability and inclusive growth, improving tax and customs management for companies operating in the Nouadhibou region, existing structural challenges, as well as priorities for fiscal and monetary reforms.
