Human Rights Commissioner Holds Talks with OHCHR Representative

The Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, Mr. Cheikh Ahmedou Ould Ahmed Salem Ould Sidi, held Talks on Thursday with the representative of the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Mauritania, Mr. Laurent Meillane.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed the Cooperative relations between Mauritania and this international human rights institution and ways to boost and develop them, particularly in the field of the commission’s intervention.

Both parties, reviewed the efforts to develop the national strategy for the protection and promotion of Human Rights and the commission’s role in training and supporting the internal security forces in the field of Human Rights.
