German Funding To Strengthen Maritime Surveillance in Mauritania

Mauritania has benefited from a donation of MRU 220,000,000 or 5,000,000 euros from the German Development Bank (KFW) for additional financing of the maritime surveillance project number 5, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors.

The statement specifies that the project supports maritime surveillance through the construction of a control quay in the Blue Tower in Nouadhibou to moor ships and boats of the coast guard and build their capacities through training, electronic monitoring, and the use of communication systems.

The ministry took the opportunity to thank, on behalf of the Mauritanian people and government, Germany for this donation which will undoubtedly improve the living conditions of the populations.
