Coalition for Sahel : we Want to Serve the G5 Sahel

Mr Frederic Bontems, who’s recently nominated as France special envoy for Sahel, held a press conference on Wednesday at the residency of French ambssador in Mauritania.
The meeting with the national and international media discussed the nature of the encounters between the Mauritanian authorities and the executive secretary of G5 Sahel. It also provided further details about his second mission as the general secretary of the Sahel coalition.
Mr. Bontems said that his visit to Mauritania, which is the current president of G5 Sahel, enabled him to meet with his counterparts from the group.
He added that the discussions focused on the general situation in the Sahel region and the coalition for the Sahel and its functioning. According to him, the discussions were precious, allowing to understand the preoccupation of Mauritania and the dynamics on which G5 Sahel.
