The Minister of the Public Service receives the platforms of Demands from the Central Workers Unions

The Minister of Public Service, Labor and Modernization of Administration, Mr. Camara Saloum Mohamed, received, today, Saturday, in his office in Nouakchott, on the occasion of May 1, international day of workers, 30 protest platforms presented by the trade unions and professional unions of Mauritanian workers, as well as other complaints from federations and trade union organizations.

The petitions included a set of demands focused on the need to improve conditions for workers and to introduce more legislative reforms to promote union action, to double production by boosting the performance of the worker who plays the lead role in the change of economic and social conditions, in particular in this circumstance characterized by the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world.

The Minister expressed the will of the public authorities, under the authority of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to carefully examine these petitions, recalling the importance of the role played by workers in the face of coronavirus which doubled production while applying precautionary measures.

He added that the achievements made in the country in various fields over the past months were only the fruit of the efforts of the national workers on whom the country relies a lot for its progress and prosperity.
