2024 Presidential Elections: Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani Chairs Electoral Meeting in Selibabi

On 18 June, the candidate for the 2024 presidential election, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazwani, held an electoral meeting in the town of Selibabi, during which he reviewed the achievements made in the country during the last five years and the broad outlines of the program he intends to implement, once re-elected on 29 June.

He declared that he would endeavor, during the next term, to make Mauritania a strong, just, and prosperous State of law and citizenship, with an administration and a judicial power at the service of the citizens.

He added that corruption would be fought seriously and that education and youth employment are among the priorities of his second term.

He went on to say that he would undertake significant reforms to create the conditions necessary to empower young people and strengthen their role in the economic development of the country.

Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani then indicated that Mauritania occupies a privileged place on the international scene thanks to its foreign diplomacy, noting that it is considered a model of stability in a troubled region and that it is often called upon to intervene to improve the situation in other countries and contribute to the resolution of international problems.

He added that the investment portfolio in the Wilaya of Guidimagha, over the last five years, amounted to 40.28 billion ouguiyas, stressing that the installations built in the Wilaya during the period account for the construction of a large hospital in the town of Selibabi which will be equipped and inaugurated as soon as possible, the construction of two large dams in Gouraye and Ghabou, and 37 small dams distributed between the different municipalities of the wilaya, in addition to the launch and the implementation of a series of projects in the areas of water, electricity, and education.

Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani called on the inhabitants of Guidimagha to vote for him again during the next presidential elections to consolidate the gains and ensure the implementation of an ambitious development program.
