2024 Presidential Elections: Candidate Outouma Soumare Chairs Electoral Meeting in Atar

On 18 June, the candidate for the 2024 presidential election, Mr. Outouma Antoine Souleimane Soumare, chaired an electoral meeting in Atar, the capital of Adrar, as part of his campaign for the 29 June election.

He indicated that he had come to Adrar to present his electoral program and his vision on the issue of unemployment and youth migration, which has become one of the most important issues hindering the development of the country despite the great potential of Mauritania in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, and tourism.

He added that the solution to all these issues lies in the creation of major projects that can reduce unemployment and create employment opportunities, such as the establishment of railways connecting our country to neighboring countries, the construction of a land port on the Mauritania-Malian border, and investment in the agricultural sector where vast agricultural areas are stretching from Seibabi to N’Diago, which can offer thousands of employment opportunities to young people who are threatened by loss of hope and drug abuse.

The candidate criticized recent statements by candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani’s campaign director, saying they are contrary to democratic norms and called for a televised debate with candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani to present their programs to citizens.
