2024 Presidential Elections: Candidate Biram Dah Abeid Reviews Electoral Program Before Populations of Kiffa

On 18 June, the candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, Mr. Biram Dah Abeid, chaired, in the town of Kiffa, an electoral evening organized by his supporters, as part of the electoral campaign preparing for the presidential elections, the first round of which will be held on 29 June 2024.

The candidate first greeted the population present whom he described as victory crowds, adding that the current regime has proven its failure in the execution of the program that it committed to the people to achieve. He indicated that the day of 29 June would see the change of the regime through the ballot boxes, calling on his supporters to preserve their votes against electoral fraud.

The candidate then reviewed the broad outlines of his electoral program which will, he said, have positive repercussions on the social and economic life of the population.

The candidate held a news conference in which he indicated that he is with legality, social peace, and the law, stressing that he only submits to the law.

He criticized what he described as “the use of the military and security institution during the electoral campaign”, believing that this is considered a message to scare and also a threat, s he put it.

He added that the use of force against the people, because they aspire to change, is unacceptable and that “we reject it”.

He further stressed that the statement by the campaign director of candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani regarding the evaluation of his candidate’s competitors in the presidential elections, particularly about competence, is unacceptable, criticizing at the same time “ the action of the independent national electoral commission and the national election observatory which do not work with the transparency required at the international level”, describing this as a “serious development”.
