President of the Republic, Chairperson of the AU Participates in the Opening of the Korea-Africa Business Summit 2024

His Excellency, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, participates Wednesday morning in the Korean capital, Seoul, in the opening of the Korean-African Business Summit on Business Development and Economic Partnership between Businessmen in Korea and the African Continent.
Hosted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy and organized by the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea-Africa Business Summit 2024 will be held on the second day of the Korea-Africa Summit, with 13 parallel events such as the Korea-Africa Youth Startup Forum, the Global ICT Leaders Forum, the Tourism Forum and the Agricultural Conference.
The business summit, in which about 500 economic actors from both sides are participating, will discuss various economic and trade issues, including strengthening economic cooperation for common growth, developing industrial infrastructure and achieving digital transformation, and establishing a system for joint response to global challenges such as food security and climate crises.
His Excellency, the Chairperson of the African Union delivered a speech on behalf of the participating African delegations, in which he stressed that African countries and the Republic of Korea have enormous potential and opportunities in key areas such as advanced technology, agriculture, infrastructure and industrial transformation, which calls for the development of a realistic and effective approach to remove obstacles to companies in their private sectors and protect investments, in a way that ensures stimulating sustainable growth capable of creating good jobs and improving the living conditions of the population, in addition to enhancing trade exchanges between the two regions and which currently does not exceed 2% of their total foreign exchange.
His Excellency pointed out that Africa has a consumer market of one billion and 400 million people, adding that it is determined to transform its advantages into real opportunities for economic, social and technological development in accordance with Agenda 2063.
His Excellency added that the many challenges facing the world, including environmental, security, economic and political, require working together, hand in hand to find sustainable and comprehensive solutions under which the partnership between Africa and Korea becomes a model for international cooperation based on mutual respect, solidarity and a shared vision for a better future.
It is noteworthy that the delegation of His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, participating in the work of the Korea-Africa Summit 2024, includes in particular representatives of national businessmen, Mr. Bahaye Ould Ghadda and Mr. Ahmed Ould Salem.
