President of Republic, AU Chairman, Arrives in Geneva To Participate in World Health Assembly

On 26 May, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union (AU), arrived in Geneva (Switzerland) to participate in the 77th session of the World Health Assembly, held under the theme of “All For Health, Health For All”.

The President of the Republic was welcomed upon his arrival at Geneva International Airport by our ambassador in Geneva, HE Mr. Ball Mohamed El Habib, and members of our diplomatic mission.

During this trip, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghzouani is accompanied by a large delegation including:

– Mr. Moctar Ould Diay, the Minister in charge of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic;

– Ms. Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknass, the Minister of Health;

– Mr. Bal Mohamed El Habib, the Ambassador of Mauritania in Geneva;

– Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, an Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic;

– Mr. Cheikh Ould Bodde, an Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic;

– Mr. El Hacen Ould Ahmed, the Director General of State Protocol.

The work of this session concerns the monitoring and evaluation of the third-millennium objectives of the World Health Organization, namely allowing a new billion people to benefit from global health coverage, protecting a new billion of people against health emergencies in a better way, and allowing a new billion people to benefit from more health protection.
