President of Republic Receives Venezuelan Ambassador’s Credentials

On 21 May, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of HE Mr. Juan Batista Arias Palacio, in his capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

After the credentials’ presentation, His Excellency, the President of the Republic, granted the Venezuelan diplomat an audience in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.

In a statement to the Mauritanian news agency at the end of the meeting, the Venezuelan ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the welcome given to him by His Excellency, the President of the Republic, during the presentation of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela.

He indicated that relations between Mauritania and Venezuela are strong and cover various areas, stressing that they will be further strengthened in the areas of economy, energy, fisheries, and mining.
