A videoconference meeting between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Mauritania (CCIAM) and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) was held Tuesday at the Remote Learning and Exchange Center in Nouakchott.
The meeting aims to inform the businessmen of the two countries of the economic capacities and investment opportunities in the two countries and to stimulate the trade exchanges between them, and to establish an economic partnership in the fields of trade, agriculture, tourism, fisheries, energy, infrastructure, and gas.
The President of the Mauritanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mr. Ahmed Baba Ould Eleya, indicated, in a speech on this occasion, that, since its creation in 1958, the Chamber has developed and represented the economic interests of the commercial, industrial, agricultural, fishing, and service companies to the Mauritanian authorities at the national level.
The virtual meeting was marked by a presentation on economic capacities, investment opportunities, and business climate in Mauritania, the revision of the law on public-private entrepreneurship to increase foreign direct investment, in infrastructure, the parties’ agreement to sign a cooperation agreement and the creation of a Mauritanian-Ukrainian business council.
The secretary general of the Chamber and trade players attended the virtual meeting.
