Mauritania’s Ambassador in London Presents Our Investment Opportunities to British Investors

On 9 May, HE Mr. BA Samba Mamadou, the Ambassador of Mauritania in London, presented before an audience of businessmen, diplomats, and an MP ( who had to visit our country twice, by the way), the investment opportunities in Mauritania.

During his presentation, HE the ambassador highlighted the economic potential and the multiple investment niches that our country offers, as well as the various natural resources with which it abounds, notably in the gas, mining, agriculture, fisheries, renewable energy, livestock, and tourism.

He also highlighted the geostrategic position of the country and the reforms undertaken by the public authorities in the legislative and financial fields (legal framework, taxes, and other advantages), with the aim of creating a climate conducive to business, to encourage, promote, and attract investments.

In this regard, he praised the merits of the creation of APIM (Agency for the Promotion of Investment in Mauritania), whose role as facilitator in matters of advice and guidance, through its various services, is preponderant for investments.

In the question-and-answer section, the various speakers focused mainly on the mission’s strategy to publicize the country, stability, tax advantages, and insurance in terms of repatriation of capital.

These exchanges were an opportunity for certain actors already present in Mauritania to share with the audience their examples of success and thus promote the Mauritania destination, both in terms of tourism and direct investments.
