President of the Republic Chairperson of the African Union Holds Bilateral Talks with the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Chairman of the African Union, Mr. Mohamed Ould El Cheikh Ghazouani, held private talks on Wednesday evening at the Presidential Palace with His Excellency the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mr. Felix Tshisekedi, who is currently on a friendship and working visit to our country.

These talks touched on regional issues of common interest and the current efforts of the AU Presidency to restore peace in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

After the individual talks, the delegation accompanying the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo joined the talks, as well as the Minister and Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, Moulay Ould Mohamed Laghdhaf, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, Moktar Diay, the Minister Counsellor of the Presidency of the Republic, Kemba Ba, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug.

In addition to the Congolese President, the meeting was also attended by a high-level delegation comprising Christophe Lutundula Abala Ben Abala, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and la Francophonie, Joseph Lovizo Bulemla, Personal Representative of the Head of State, Ms. Kaupo Mandugu Bola, Special Adviser to the Head of State, and Serge Ichebangu, High Representative of the Head of State, with the rank of Minister.
