The works of the second edition of a student forum on strengthening the culture of dialogue and social peace have started Monday in Nouakchott. The event was organized by the Lebanese International University, University of Nouakchott El Asriya, and the national center for university services, with the support of the US embassy.
The 6-six-day symposium aims to animate the academic scene through academic and intellectual activities that focus on major national topics, such as: the national unity, Human Rights, cultural diversity, spreading the culture of peace and social dialogue, citizenship, and fight against terrorism and hatred.
The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Communication technologies, government spokesperson, Mr. Sidi Ould Salem, who supervised the opening ceremony of the workshop, stressed on the importance of such forums, which contribute to shaping the personality of the student.
He added that the future function and the role of students require that they be trained, through scientific and cultural exchanges, on the values of openness, empathy, tolerance, and citizenship.
