The First Lady, Dr Mariem Fadel Dah, supervised, Monday at the Zayed Center for Autism in Nouakchott, the closing of the activities of the World Autism Awareness Day, organized this year under the theme, “Inclusion on the work site: challenges and opportunities in a post-pandemic period”.
The First Lady visited the various pavilions of the center, the first of its kind in Mauritania, specialized in the treatment and rehabilitation of autistic children. Since its creation, the center has taken care of and rehabilitated children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
In a speech for the occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs, Children, and the Family, Ms. Naha Mint Haroune Ould Cheikh Sidiya, affirmed that the problems of people living with a disability and their care are among the axes the most important of the social program of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and that they are at the center of the general policy of the government of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal.
For his part, the director of the Zayed Center for Autism, Mr. Mohamed Fadel Abed Rabbou, expressed his warm thanks and his full gratitude to the First Lady for attending the closing ceremony of the activities of the World Autism Awareness Day, which was marked by the organization of a series of interesting activities.
The ceremony was attended by the wali of western Nouakchott, the chairperson of the Nouakchott Regional Council, the hakem of Tevragh Zeina, the mayor of its municipality and the ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Morocco, and the French Republic.
