Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives New Palestinian Ambassador

His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, received, Wednesday, in Nouakchott, HE Mr. Muhammad Qasim Asaad, the new ambassador of the State of Palestine.

During the meeting, His Excellency received from the Palestinian diplomat a copy of his credentials as the new ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

On this occasion, His Excellency reiterated our country’s steadfast support for a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the relevant UN resolutions, and the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on the borders of 4 June 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Omar Mohamed Babou, Ambassador, Director of the Arab World at the Directorate of Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians abroad, and Mrs. Aminettou Sidi Mohamed, head of a department at the same directorate.
