Launching the Youth and Women Summit on the Sidelines of the Fourth African Conference on the Promotion of Peace

The Youth and Women’s Summit “Old Education, Immunization and Empowerment” began on Wednesday at the International Conference Palace (Al-Mourabitoun) on the sidelines of the Fourth African Conference on the Promotion of Peace, which kicked off on Tuseday under the high patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

Participants in the summit discussed the most prominent problems facing youth and women, ways to fortify and empower the two components through ancient education, and the optimal use of the possibilities it offers in the field of pushing the continent’s youth to goodness, wellness and peace.

The Minister of Social Work, Childhood and Family, Ms. Safia bint Entha, said in a speech delivered on behalf of First Lady Mariam Fadel Dah, that the second edition of the Youth and Women Peacemakers Summit in Africa was characterized by the high patronage of the First Lady, and the participation of the Gambian First Lady Fatima Ba Barrow, which makes African societies expect her to come up with results and recommendations that contribute to civil peace and world peace.

Indigenous education played a major role in empowering and fortifying the individual and society, safeguarding identity, consolidating the cultural and religious values of societies and fortifying the socialization of children.

She explained that the Mauritanian government found in the previous three editions of the African Conference for the Promotion of Peace a real opportunity to spread the values of peace, tolerance and love and the rejection of extremism and extremism, noting that the most important of these indicators is the summit’s call today to deepen dialogue between senior scholars and young people to correct some misconceptions and misconceptions that confuse understanding of some of the teachings of the true Islamic religion, which is a religion of tolerance, security and peace.

In her speech, the Minister called on the participants in this summit to seize the opportunity and strive to come up with recommendations that contribute to social development, expressing the readiness of the Mauritanian government to implement them at the national level.

For her part, Gambian First Lady Fatima Ba Barrow explained that women are the backbone of all local communities, pointing to the leading role they play in the development and prosperity of society, highlighting that women still suffer from manifold challenges, despite the progress they have achieved.

She pointed out that young people in Africa are required to play the roles entrusted to them to the fullest, and to ensure their involvement in all aspects of life, explaining that women can contribute effectively to building peace and peace.

Young people, as living energy, must be prepared and armed with the values to make them capable of playing their role with all seriousness and sincerity.

At the end of the summit, the Gambian First Lady and Minister of Social Action presented the Africa Prize for the Promotion of Peace to the Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, Mr. Sheikh Mahfouz bin Bayyah, for his contribution and active role in promoting peace.
