On 22 December, in Nouakchott, Mr. Ahmed Sid’Ahmed Die, the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Relations with Parliament, held a meeting with Dr. Salem bin Mohamed al-Malik, the Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the results of the audience granted to the ICESCO Director General by His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, the latest developments in the partnership between Mauritania and the Organization in the fields of education, science, and culture, but also, the consolidation of the achievements made during the celebration of Nouakchott, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2023.
The meeting also discussed proposals and mechanisms for the development of a strategic plan for the promotion of Mauritanian Mahdhara and ways to develop it so that it continues to play its role as a pillar of original education in Mauritania, and the incubator of its cultural identity throughout history.
