Sports Minister Meets with President of International Sports Press Association

The Minister of Employment, Youth, and Sports, Mr. Taleb Sidi Ahmed, held, Thursday, via videoconference, a meeting with the president of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).

This virtual meeting, in which the president of the African Union of the Sports Press participated, aimed to discuss the situation of sports journalists in Mauritania, particularly in the current circumstances marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the organization of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania for the first time, in addition to other topics.

The Minister seized the opportunity to express his desire to see sporting projects carried out in the country, following the national capacities demonstrated through the last continental sporting event hosted by the country.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the African Union of Sports Press, the leading sports commentator for the Egyptian newspaper El Ahram, the President of the Association of Mauritanian Sports Commentators, and the Secretary General of this association.
