This was stated in a statement released Saturday evening by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, in which it reaffirmed its absolute rejection of any threat to the security of the brotherly state of the United Arab Emirates and its vital interests.

The statement reads as follows:

While reiterating its categorical rejection of any threat to the security of the brotherly state of the United Arab Emirates and its vital interests, the Mauritanian government affirms its full solidarity with the UAE and calls for an end to these acts of aggression, respect for the sovereignty of states and international law, and the preservation of maritime navigation security, with a view to strengthening regional security.”
