Foreign Minister Meets U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for West Africa

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, met yesterday, Tuesday, in New York, with Mr. Richard C. Michaels, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for West Africa and Public Diplomacy in the Bureau of African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, on the sidelines of the meetings of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review bilateral cooperation relations between Mauritania and the United States of America, and to discuss ways to enhance and develop them to serve the common interests of the two countries, along with an exchange of views on a number of issues and topics of mutual interest.
