His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, attended Friday prayers this afternoon at the Ancient Mosque in the city of Ouadane, following the launch of the 14th edition of the Heritage Cities Festival earlier in the morning.
Afterward, His Excellency presided over the opening of the 14th edition of a competition organized by the Ministry of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, in cooperation with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education. The competition was held in the outer courtyard of the Ancient Mosque in Ouadane. It covers various subjects, including the Holy Quran and its sciences, the Noble Hadith and its sciences, Jurisprudence (Fiqh), the Prophet’s Biography (Sira), and the Arabic language and its sciences. This event is part of the activities of the Heritage Cities Festival.
Contestants from the four historic cities are participating in the competition, which is being judged by a selected panel of experts.
