President of Republic Meets U.S Deputy Secretary of State

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, held a meeting this evening, Wednesday, in Washington with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Mr.  Christopher Landau, in the presence of delegations from both countries.

The meeting focused on following up and activating the issues addressed by His Excellency the President during his meeting with his American counterpart, Mr. Donald Trump, in the context of strengthening the bonds of cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance the partnership between Mauritania and the American private sector in a manner that serves the prosperity of both nations. They also touched on regional security issues in the Sahel region.

Both parties expressed their shared commitment to deepening the strategic partnership and continuing coordination on priority issues at both the bilateral and regional levels.
