Gambia’s Vice President Begins Visit to Mauritania

On 25 June, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Diallo, the Vice President of the Republic of the Gambia, arrived in Nouakchott for a multi-day visit to Mauritania.

The Gambian guest was welcomed upon arrival at Nouakchott Oum-Tounsi International Airport by Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Diay.

The Gambian guest was also welcomed at the airport by the Ministers of Justice, Defense, Retirees, and Children of Martyrs, Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development, Energy and Oil, Industry and Mines, Fisheries, Maritime, and Port Infrastructures, Trade and Tourism, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mauritania’s ambassador to The Gambia,  Advisors to the Prime Minister, the Wali of Nouakchott Ouest, the President of the Nouakchott Region, and the Ambassador Director General of Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.

The Prime Minister and the Vice President of the Republic of the Gambia held talks in the airport’s VIP lounge, in the presence of the two countries’ ambassadors.

The Vice President of the Republic of the Gambia and his accompanying delegation are visiting Mauritania as part of the sixth session of the Joint High Commission for bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, scheduled to open on 26 June in Nouakchott.
