Mauritania’s Representative to IFAD Presents Credentials

Her Excellency Zeinabou Mint Ely Salem, our country’s ambassador to the Italian Republic, presented her credentials to the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Mr. Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo, as a permanent representative of Mauritania to this fund.

In her talks with the President of the Fund, the Ambassador discussed ways to enhance cooperation and lasting partnership between our country and IFAD. They also reviewed the level of implementation of projects supported by the Fund in our country and ways to support Mauritania’s efforts in the areas of food security, sustainable development, and support for diversity and agricultural development.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Nadine Gbossa, IFAD’s Director, West and Central Africa Division, Mr. Gianluca Capaldo, Country Director, and Mr. Charles Teller, IFAD President Office Chief.
